Maria Mills
General Manager Haka Accommodation Group
Maria is the GM of Haka Accommodation Group, looking after a growing network of 7 properties across Aotearoa. Maria is based in Rotorua but is often traversing the country seeing our properties in both islands as well as time at our Auckland head office. Maria has had a stella career with Haka so far starting off as a Lodge Manager in Taupo, being promoted to our first ever Operations Manager role and now the GM of the entire accommodation group! Maria’s iwi is Te Arawa.
Hannah McAlpine
Hotel Manager
Hannah (AKA Dave): Born and raised in New Zealand, Hannah is a tried and true kiwi. Having worked in the field of hospitality both in NZ and abroad, Hannah’s wealth of experience, combined with the affability of her character, renders her a leader both resolute and personable. But most importantly it is Hannah’s passion and love for her role within the world of hospitality and tourism, which delivers the best possible experience, both for her staff, and her guests.
Yash Wadhawan
Hotel Assistant Manager
Yash (AKA Yindia): There will never be a dull moment when Yash is around. With a four year background in hospitality and hotels, Yash brings to the table not merely a breadth of experience but some lovely wholesome vibes. Our very own Mr Congeniality is approachable and you can rest assured, with his presence you will enjoy your stay with us even more. His witty personality is but one of the many reasons we love him.

Duty Manager
May (AKA May-laysian): May is from Malaysia and is one of a kind! She is one of the most calm, composed and positive members of the crew. A true nature lover and passionate global traveler. In her free-time you will find her drawing – she’s quite the talented artist. May never hesitates to go over and above the call of duty and this shines through the most with our beloved guests.
Agnes Mutz
Housekeeping Supervisor
Agnes (AKA Aga): This vivacious Hungarian beauty is our first ever Housekeeping Supervisor for Haka Hotels. Having come all the way from Budapest, Agnes brings with her a wealth of experience in the tourism and hospitality industry. A self-proclaimed neat freak with acute attention to detail who is not afraid to get stuck into a hard day’s work – you will be sure to see her floating though the hotel as she ensures our guests have a seamless experience.
Eru
Māori Cultural Advisor
Eru: Eru is our cultural advisor and the purpose of his role is to enhance the cultural capability of our Haka Tourism Group staff and to ensure our tours and services are an example of cultural best practice. Eru is also responsible for providing cultural best practice policies, Te Reo language skills, developing a scholarship for future Māori Tour Managers as well as a cultural development programme across the Haka Tourism Group. We love Eru’s passion, his impressive knowledge of tikanga Māori and his ability to engage all staff across the Haka Tourism Group.
